Professional Experience

Mr. Seifert’s trial practice focuses on the representation of property and casualty insurers in the areas of extra-contractual liability and uninsured/underinsured motorist law.  In addition, Mr. Seifert has extensive experience defending third-parties in the areas of personal injury and property damage, as well as extensive experience in the areas of administrative law and water law.

Mr. Seifert has spent the entirety of his legal career practicing as a defense lawyer within the State of New Mexico, whether in the public or the private sector.  Prior to joining Riley, Keller, Alderete and Gonzales, P.A., Mr. Seifert spent seven years as staff counsel for a national insurance provider defending first and third-party claims and several years as a junior associate for a local private defense firm practicing in the area of insurance defense following graduation from law school.

Mr. Seifert’s professional experience also includes acting as senior staff counsel for the State of New Mexico’s Water Rights Division with the Office of the State Engineer where he spent several years working in the administration of water rights, defending the New Mexico State Engineer in administrative hearings, district court appeals, as well as handling appeals to the New Mexico Court of Appeals and New Mexico Supreme Court, including Waterfall v. Scott Verhines, and Lion’s Gate v. New Mexico State Engineer’s Office.
