David A. Gonzales

David is an experienced litigator and trial attorney whose career has been defined by his ability to effectively handle complex and high-stakes litigation for his clients, including when trial is necessary. He is a director and shareholder with the firm whose practice spans a wide range of industries and a broad spectrum of matters including in the areas of construction, commercial litigation, shareholder disputes, property actions, and wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases. He has also led the handling of numerous appeals, including oral argument in front of the New Mexico Court of Appeals. In the construction arena, David also serves as a trusted advisor to clients with respect to contract drafting and review.

The hallmarks of David’s approach to each case are early strategy and fact development, aggressive advocacy through discovery and motions practice, and the philosophy that every case should be prepared as if trial may be required. He is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts in New Mexico, and he regularly litigates matters in various arbitration forums. Prior to joining the firm, David worked at a national Am Law 200 law firm where he represented numerous multinational and Fortune 500 companies in several highly publicized “bet-the company” litigation matters. He also spent time working in Asia on a complex discovery assignment.
